Thrifty, one of the biggest car rental companies in USA has recently increased the price of the child booster seats that customers with children prefer in order to keep their children safe and comfortable during the journey. Customer will have to pay more for the additional safety feature that the rental service provider offers.

However the change in prices are not done across all its outlets in the US, there are only few locations that will see a change in the price of the child/ booster seats. However, the price change may soon be reflected across all the other locations too slowly and steadily. If rumours are to be believed there is speculation that other car rental companies in the US will also follow suit and may increase the price of their child/booster sets also. The new price that customers would need to pay for this special safety cocoon for children is about $11.00 per day inclusive of GST. The locations that have shot up their prices effective immediately are listed below:
Ascot, Ballina City / Airport, Brendale, Byron Bay, Caloundra, Chinchilla,

There have been a few changes by the large car rental companies in Australia about the classifications of their cars. We list a few of these changes and find out what they mean to you the consumer.

According to the changes outlined earlier, the segment which comprised of 5 door cars like hatchbacks such as Audi A3, Volkswagen golf and the cars in this category will have another label attached to their name.

This segment of vehicles will now include passenger cars like like smaller 4WD’s and SUV’s. Cars that may appear similar to the Nissan Dualis – Not actually off road going vehicles however may appear to look so.

The reason for these changes is so customers will have more choice in choosing a car for the same price bracket they are used to. This means that there will be in more on offer for the same amount of money.

Overall increasing this range means that the car companies will have stiffer competition on their hands and this equates to better value for Australian’s and travellers of this great country of ours.

The example above stated changes in the smaller hatchback section of vehicles on offer, however the changes will be made across the range of various segments. To continue this example if you wanted to hire a large 4WD then doing so means you will have the choice of over 5 various cars to choose from.

Plan on taking a business trip? You will probably be inspecting car rental prices across Australia.

If you have never rented a car for a business trip you will need to be aware of the prices. even though there are a lot of discount sites available, you will find that they are unsurprisingly counteracted by hidden charges that creep up on unsuspicious consumers.

As long as you know further on about the price and outlay of the car you are looking to rent.

Renting a car for business does not have to be as expensive as it may look. As long as you know about the hidden costs involved. These are a few tips to steer you in the right direction.

1. Consider the costs before renting a particular class of car, ranges from small cars to very large cars, 4WD’s or trucks.

2. Keep some money in your budget for extra insurance costs depending on the price of the insurance it could be worth your while especially when driving in a location you are not familiar with.

3. Sometime car rental companies will charge you extra just for picking up the car. Be sure to know your exact costs before even getting in and starting the car up.

For example, if you want somebody else to drive your rental car, you typically need to pay a an extra payment starting at $40 extra per day.

If you are under the age of 25, you can expect to pay even more due to their regulations depending on the company and your state of course
